Aerial Arrays

Since 2007, HFS has been leading the way in designing and building innovative multi-camera arrays, from early 2-camera stereo setups using Arriflex 435 35mm film cameras, to modern 8-camera Red Raptor 8K arrays mounted on the Shotover K1 stabilized gimbal for large-format aerial cinematography. All of which were developed closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and Post-Production Houses to meet the high standards of modern VFX.

Our custom arrays include the 3-camera 'Cerberus', the 4-camera ‘Cluster’, the titular 360 degree system, and the 6-camera 'Typhon'  that was used on productions such as Paddington, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and Wonder Woman 1984. These rigs are compatible with a wide range of cinema-grade cameras, including the ARRI Alexa Mini and Mini LF, the Red Helium, Red Raptor, and the Sony Venice 2.

To further support VFX integration, we jointly developed the ‘Stitchbox’ with Brownian Motion, a proprietary tool that enables real-time stitching and rendering of array footage in various formats on a single monitor.

No matter the idea is, our in-house design team is fully equipped to take your vision from concept to reality. Contact us to find out more.
